Is it only me who has noticed that nowadays everyone is working out? Okay long story short.
It has become more and more apparent that our bodies could benefit from some type of workout program. Our doctors and all of the people who know and love us, experts, and ads on tv say in so many ways that if you want to stay young and healthy, you must workout. Which we all agree, don’t we?
Straight styles, especially on unrelaxed hair, usually succumb to the power of going hard on the elliptical while rocking out to a workout playlist, and can also have a big impact and big curls.
Here are ways to keep your hair as smooth and fabulous as possible while getting your workout on.
Always put on a head wrap.
If your an african woman, do not exercise with your hair under a cotton scarf. Make sure the head wrap is made of satin or silk. We know its not all that cute, but hey, the only women trying to be cute in the gym are the ones that aren’t trying to work out.A head wrap keeps hair taut and in place. We all agree that working out does help us feel and look better as we age. If you refuse to tie a head wrap, a high, tight ponytail with a bandanna or cute scarf around the hairline can also work. Remember to consider the following:
Shampoo your hair after the work out.
Have you ever noticed how you feel after sweat dries on your body? You tend to feel sticky and dirty, and you can hardly wait to take a shower. Your hair and scalp go through similar changes when you work out. If you work out and shower but don’t shampoo your hair, your sweat will cause your hair and scalp to become dehydrated and polluted. This will also age your hair and scalp. Remember that the scalp is skin, and just like the skin on your face you must clean it on a regular basis,or you will develop a build-up in the pores.
Below is a simple step that can help you:
Step 1. In the shower rinse your hair as you rinse your body.
Step 2. Apply shampoo to your hair as you lather your body.
Step 3. Rinse your hair and body.
Step 4. Apply conditioner and let it sit for a while.
Step 5. Rinse your hair as you rinse your body.
You are now clean and conditioned from head to toe.
Thank you for stopping by! XOXO
